McDonald’s x Carolina ESports Hub Campaign

Some things in life you don’t see coming, and this was certainly one of those opportunities. I got approached in mid-February 2022 to shoot a campaign for McDonald’s to promote their app, delivery and one of their meals. Since the project was with Carolina ESports Hub, our target audience was gamers, so the photos needed to also incorporate that somehow.

When I got approached for this project, I immediately knew how I wanted the photos to look and feel. Gaming setups often have a very neon light aesthetic and that’s what I wanted to infuse into the shoot. I had a couple different methods in mind for how I could achieve this look, either through light bars or Godox photo strobes. I went with the latter as they gave me significantly more light and color and less grain in my final images. My mood board for this shoot was a combination of different hero shots from McDonalds shoots that I found online and various photos of gaming setups. Branding sessions for every shoot are different, but the important thing is understanding the vision that the client has and being able to execute it properly. Here are my final results!
